NELSPRUIT –  Only a matter of months remain before South African voters cast their vote in the fifth national and provincial elections, and the DA calls on every eligible person to register, or update their registration details on February 8 and 9.

The 2014 elections will go down in history as the tipping point of the ANC’s domination of the political arena, with events of the past five years showing how president Jacob Zuma and his cronies have abused state resources to their own benefit.

During the past decade, the DA has become South Africa’s fastest growing political party, and has become the embodiment of transformation and non-racialism, with a range of tried and tested policy responses to rampant corruption, unemployment and slow economic growth.

A DA led Mpumalanga provincial administration would take the necessary steps to assist Mbombela with its service delivery mandate. Through the finance department and the provincial treasury, we would provide the necessary financial management and procurement assistance, thus ensuring that budgeted funds are spent accordingly.

Other provincial departments would work closely with the municipality to bring basic services to impoverished communities, while continuing to expand housing, education and health infrastructure.

Steps would be taken to ensure that senior management positions would be filled with qualified and competent individuals so as to ensure that Mbombela truly becomes a city of excellence.

By registering to vote on February 8 and 9, voters will have the power in their hands to choose a DA-led government, with a proven delivery record – or face another five years of corruption, nepotism and political patronage.

It is critical that every eligible voter to visit their designated voting station from 08:00 to 17:00, and register to win.

To find out where you are registered, SMS your ID number to the IEC’s enquiry line on 32810, get registered, and get ready to bring change to Mpumalanga, or call the DA’s Provincial Head Office on 013-282-1225

Register to vote, and be part of the change to make Mpumalanga a better place.
