EFF and ANC clash at Sopa

An EFF member at the scene.

MBOMBELA – It is a sea of red and yellow outside the government complex as ANC and EFF members are clashing heads while Mpumalanga premier Mr David Mabuza is delivering his State of the Province Address (Sopa) inside.

EFF members wanted to march in the area and was planning on handing over a memorandum to Mabuza later. There is a strong police presence at the scene and officials are preventing them from marching. The officials also have their hands full in keeping the groups of ANC and EFF supporters separated.

“We will die for this country. We will die for Zuma. We will die for DD,” ANC members are shouting.

The EFF wants answers from Mabuza, who hasn’t been in legislature since falling ill at the beginning of September last year. Upon his return to work, the legislature was in recess.
