MBOMBELA – The notorious Victor Wilkens has been denied bail in the Silverton Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Boschkop police confirmed that he was arrested last night for possessing an unlicenced firearm. Silverton police confirmed that he was arrested along with a woman.
It is unclear at this stage what charges she will face. Both appeared in court this morning. According to a source, Wilkens was denied bail.
The source said Wilkens’ neighbour’s dogs got out of her yard last night and bit Wilkens’ Jack Russell. He allegedly stabbed the neighbour’s dog with a knife.
When she confronted him, he threatened her with a gun.
Wilkens was previously charged with attempted murder, after Ms Amanda Joubert (then 24) fell from his Hillside Manor balcony on January 16, 2014.
The case was later withdrawn when the victim was medically unable to testify.

Joubert, who miraculously escaped death, suffered a serious brain injury and multiple fractures.

On the night of the incident, she remembered coming across Wilkens, who she said was smoking crystal meth.

She grabbed the pipe from his hands and could tell by his facial expression that she had to make a run for it.

According to her, she tried to run away when Wilkens grabbed her by her hair.

She said he suddenly had a knife to her throat and threatened to slaughter her like a pig while repeatedly hitting her head against a wall.

The police investigated Joubert’s fall and a case of attempted murder was instituted.

Wilkens was arrested in Noupoort, where he was undergoing rehabilitative therapy for his drug addiction.
